STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR OPERATION OF OCTAGONAL BLENDER.

OBJECTIVE:To lay down a procedure for operation of the Octagonal blender.

SCOPE:This SOP is applicable for operation of the Octagonal blender for the blending of the powders or lubrication of granules of granulation section of production department.

PROCEDURE:

1. Charging the material for blending

1.1 Ensure that the Octagonal blender is thoroughly clean and ready to receive the material for blending.

1.2 Bring the Blender in the upright position (the butterfly valve is at the bottom) manually, by using the inching push bottom.
1.3 Place the enlarger on the butterfly valve and tight the flange of the enlarger with the butterfly valve with nut bolts.

1.4 Bring the bin with filled powder by hydraulic pallet trolley & and place it below the enlarger and jack up to the enlarger step.

1.5 Rotate the blender and bring the Blender in upright position (the butterfly valve is at the top)

1.6 Open the butterfly valve slowly through steering handle, which is attached to the valve. Now the powder starts flowing into the blender.

1.7 When powder is fully charged into the blender close the butterfly valve.

1.8 Rotate the blender and bring it in upright position (the butterfly valve is at the bottom)

1.9 Place the hydraulic trolley below the bin and jack up to the bottom of the bin. De-clamp the bin from the enlarger.

1.10 Bring another bin which is filled with powder and repeat the procedure until required quantity is charged into the blender.

1.11 Do not charge the material quantity more than the rated capacity of the blender
