Cleaning of Q.C Laboratory
Daily cleaning of instruments:

Clean all QC instruments by removing dust with dry cloth and if necessary, mop with wet
cloth followed by dry cloth.

Frequency: Daily
Weekly cleaning of walls, view glasses, windows, doors & ceiling:
Clean the dust from walls and corners at the ceiling by long broom and then mop with wet lint
free cloth.
Remove spots or stains from the surface by cleaning with 1% v/v solution of detergent or Soap
and then mop with wet cloth, if required isopropyl alcohol may be used.
Clean the view glasses/windows/doors with wet lint free cloth.
Remove cob-webs from walls/ceilings with the help of long broom or long duster.
Frequency: Once in a week
Weekly cleaning of furniture/fixture:
Before cleaning electrical fixtures, ensure that switch is off.

Remove dust from the fixtures by a lint free cloth.
Clean blades of Fan with the help of wet lint free cloth after Switching Off.
Frequency: Once a week.

Frequency:
Floor, Sink and Instruments —— Daily.
Walls, view glasses, windows, door and Ceiling
— Weekly.

To establish a procedure for cleaning of Floors, Walls, Windows, Doors, Ceiling, Wash
Basins, Furniture, Fixtures, Fans and Instruments to maintain neat, clean and safe working
environment.

Procedure:
Daily cleaning of Floor and Sinks:
Remove the scrap/waste, such as paper pieces, cotton wastes etc. from the area. Collect them
in waste bins. Put the waste at designated area or “SCRAP OUT” area and send it scrap yard.
Remove dust/spilled material from the floor by nylon broom.
Clean the floor with raw water and Detergent powder or Soap solution.
Remove detergent with raw water.
Disinfect the floor by using following disinfectant solutions weekly, according the SOP

1 5% v/v Dettol
2.5% v/v Phenyl
2.5% v/v Lyzol

Mop the area to dryness. Note: Always Prepare fresh disinfectant by using D.M. w
above specified quantity of Disinfectant.
Clean the sinks with detergent solution and then flush with plenty of raw water, if
much dirty uses dilute Hydrochloric acid to clean the dirty patches.

Frequency: Once in a Day
