SOP: Standard Operating Procedure

PROCEDURE:

  1. ASSEMBLING

  • Ensure that all machine parts are thoroughly cleaned.

  • Assemble the rotor and blades. The scrapper blades have to be in the lowest groove. Fix the blades with the knife-edge in forward direction of rotation and secure the blades with retaining pins.
  • Mount the rotor / Blades assembly on the drive shaft and lock the motor in position by means of the locking bolts.

  • Do not forcefully fit the rotor/blades assembly on the drive shaft.

  • Mount the desired screen on the screen holding plate and mount the holding plate on the two studs. Lock the same by rotating and clamp it with the wing nuts. Check the alignment of the screen on the holding plates and make it true. Do not force fit the screen holding plate on the studs.

See the diagram below –

  • Mount the discharge hopper and clamp it with the 4 wing nuts.

  • Close the slide valve of the charging hopper.

  • Open the top cover and set the machine for the desired speed by means of the coupling.

Switch off the main supply before opening the top cover for changing the speed

  1. PROCEDURE FOR CHANGING THE SPEED –

2.1 VFD is provided so as per the requirement adjust the speed of the multimill accordingly.

  1. PROCEDURE FOR ROUTINE OPERATIONS –

3.1 Ensure that all the contact parts of the machine are thoroughly cleaned.

3.2 Select the machine speed and set the machine ready for operation.

3.3 Start the machine using the Push Button “START” & adjust speed by using VFD.

3.4 Charge the product into the hopper manually.

3.5 Open the slide valve slowly and let the product enter the milling chamber.

3.6 Regulate the input by adjusting the opening of the slide valve.

3.7 Maximum output can be obtained by maintaining a constant rate of feeding.

3.8 Over feeding may jam the rotor and blades and may cause damage to the screen

  1. DISCHARGING THE MATERIAL –

4.1 Place the bin or milled material receptacle lined with poly bags below the outlet of the discharge hopper of the machine.

  • Connect the mouth of the discharge hopper outlet with the inlet of the milled material receptacle using a canvass or polyethylene tube connector.

  • If more than one receptacle is required to collect the milled material, close the slide valve of the charge hopper and remove the filled receptacle. Repeat the procedures 4.11 & 4.2.
